This "illustrated handbook for children and adults" has emerged as a kind of compilation of three
successes – picture books from The House Monsters series. In this book, some of the 57 described
and illustrated monsters have been "rejuvenated" with text or illustration, some have been replaced
by their current descendants, and some new ones have been added.
The book has been created as an opportunity for children to address a number of topics or even
problems, otherwise rather difficult to explain, in a likeable and cheerful way. For adults, it can be an
assistance and guide in their communication with children – each topic, presented as an interesting
house monster, is accompanied by instructions on how to get rid of it, how to tame it, or even turn it
into a pet.
The texts and illustrations are full of charm, humour, and warmth.
